I just bought an Acer TH monitor along with the other parts for this new computer and I am not able to use the touch capabilities of the monitor. I've gone back and forth with Acer tech support and after a conversation over the phone they said the problem could be that Windows does not have the touch enabled. I thought I had it anabled. Is there something else I need enabled? After installing all the drivers what I noticed was that under Devices and Printers there's an entry for my Acer TH monitor, and an extra unknown device listed as TH with a yellow triangle and a exclamation mark.
I believe this is from the USB port which is used for touch on the monitor. In Windows 7 you do not have to enable any of the settings for the touch screen. If all the drivers and applications are installed from the monitor manufacturer, it should work. However, I would suggest you to make a note of the error code for the unknown device TH and post it back.
To do this open device manager and right click on the Unknown device and click on properties. Make a note of the error code. Multi-touch can only be enabled if all drivers were installed. It is the last tab on the list of tabs.
To disable Multi-touch, simply reverse the procedure. If in doubt, follow the steps listed below. Alternatively, launch a productivity software such as Paint, select a marker or pencil and swipe three fingers across the screen. Windows 7 Hardware Compatibility. Sign in to vote. Wednesday, June 10, AM. Hi Abby, are you still studying, or trying to get one to run? If it's the first, look on the manufacturers website if they have Windows 7 compatability for the device panel or if they are planning to release drivers at a centain point.
And if they already support their panel under Windows Vista. Remember that whatever display panel, it will always connect to a graphics card. So that has to be supported as well and offer support for a touch panel. Wednesday, June 10, PM. Hi Abby.
